Bothriolepis was a widespread, abundant and diverse genus of antiarch placoderm that lived from 387 - 360 million years ago. It resided in various areas, including both freshwater rivers and saltwater coasts and seas.
Hell on Earth[]
Bothriolepis is depicted as living in a freshwater environment; in this case, a river. After the volcanic plume's eruption, the river evaporates, forcing the Tiktaalik and Eusthenopteron to leave for other areas. However, the Bothriolepis would not survive, and would lay dying in the dried riverbed. The Bothriolepis would later survive the extinction, and would be seen getting caught and eaten by Tiktaalik's descendant, Ichthyostega.
